We are a multiple award-winning team of professional trainers and behaviourists, proudly operating as a Kennel Club Approved Training Centre. Collectively, our expert team offers over 41 years of experience working with dogs.
Our journey is rooted in a deep passion for canine welfare. Founders Lyn and Mike ran an animal rescue centre in Southern Spain for six years, where Lyn also worked as a veterinary assistant. Together, they rescued, rehabilitated, and retrained dogs (as well as cats and horses) before rehoming them. This firsthand experience gave our team a profound insight into the unique needs of rescue dogs—especially those unfairly labelled as "untrainable."

The Wagtail Philosophy
As a family-run business, we believe dog training should involve the whole household. We actively encourage as many family members as possible to attend our sessions.
- Fully Adaptive Training: If a handler has a disability, limited movement, or Autism, we will always adapt our sessions to suit your individual needs.
- Small, Supported Groups: We keep our group classes small—normally around just 6 dogs—and ensure 2 to 3 trainers and assistants are present in every session to give you the support you deserve.
- Positive Takeaways: Our goal is that you leave every single session feeling positive, equipped with clear skills you can easily practice at home and on your walks.
Ultimate Flexibility For Busy Lives
We understand that life is busy. Between families, children, work, health, and holidays, committing to consecutive weekly sessions can be tough.
With Wagtail, you won't lose out financially or educationally. If you cannot attend a scheduled session, simply give us as much notice as possible. We will happily move your session to the next convenient date for you (subject to our T&Cs). Because we have three trainers on hand, we make sure you never miss out on vital core content.

Just what I needed, 1-1 observation, guidance, support and strategies for my very lively cockador. Lyn has advised me on harnesses, food supplements and learning aids. Never being a dog owner before, Lyn has helped me to learn the techniques needed to support my dog, rather than generic techniques for any dog, and that is just what I needed after attending a group class, which didn't work for us, as our puppy needed more focused attention as she is easily distracted. Our girl loves Lyn, she can't get enough of the treats and fussing, I needed her too to reassure me that I am on the right track. I have picked up tips from friends, books, tv and youtube, but having someone with you on a 1-1 basis is second to none. I would thoroughly recommend Lyn and Wagtail walks and training.

I was very worried Odin was just an aggressive pup and panicked, Then I met Lyn, Had 2 home visits and have also signed up to and so far taken part in 1 puppy training classes and although Odin is still full of beans and absolutely crazy he is coming along nicely and most of my worries have gone! Lyn has always been there via email or message or phone! Great team her and Mike 😊

Happier hound
Lyn and Mike have been genuine life-savers to us and our reactive dog. Before we attended their training sessions we had completely lost confidence in managing our terrier around other dogs, and in managing her needs with those of our cockerpoo. In just three months with Lyn and Mike we have acquired the necessary skills and are putting them to good use. We are happier humans and have a much happier hound!

Lyn has been incredibly helpful and a wealth of information. The change in our dog in just three weeks has been amazing. She really knows her stuff! If you have a dog with issues like ours, or just have a dog or puppy who needs a bit of training, don't hesitate, you won't look back!
We had a very pleasant session with Lyn and our two dogs, Fudge and Domino, this morning. We have been having issues with reaction and Lyn spent time with the girls and gave us some great advice on how we can deal with it. She was welcoming and friendly and the girls took to her immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lyn and we will certainly be taking her advice.

Lyn and Mike are the best, two weeks in and my puppy Maisie just loves going to training. Such lovely people and you can see straight away how much they love what they do, making the sessions so much fun and rewarding and to help with training in between sessions they have so much information on their website to keep you going. I was struggling with my puppy but after one lesson with Lyn things were so much better.Lyn helped me see what to do when my pup became aggressive (she said he is a baby and babies get over tired so pop him into his bed when you see it coming..and he’s so much calmer!)brilliant

Wagtails puppy training

Lyn and Mike have offered such a lovely environment for our German shepherd pup Bella, we have both learned so much and Lyn is always put my mind at ease being a first time dog mum, I would and have highly recommended wagtails to everyone! Bella always gets so excited and always has so much fun!

Brilliant trainers who will give you the tools you need while having fun learning and playing with your dog
We joined the group training classes with our cockapoo puppy as soon as he was able to go outside! He transformed from a shy little boy to a confident dog able to take new experiences in his stride thanks to Wagtail. We learnt the essential tools for training him and had fun doing it. We definitely bonded over games because of the style of training too. Cannot rate these guys highly enough. We’re planning to go back for sessions in the future. Thank you!!

Benji made great progress quickly and with all the tools Lyn has shown us, we know Benji will continue to get better & better. We thoroughly enjoyed our 1-1 sessions and group training. We miss seeing her and the group every week. I would thoroughly recommend Lyn and Mike at Wagtail walks and training, they are very knowledgeable and make the training fun for everyone
